About Me

Almudena Romero was born in Málaga in 1976 where she grew up developing a growing interest in drawing since her early childhood. Having a tendency towards the world of arts in general she became an autodidact in drawing experimenting with different techniques.

Some awards in school and high school drove her to new chances in drawing, getting another award for her drawings focused on the Women international day celebration in the 90s. Although she loved painting her studies led her to finish a BA specialized in English Literature in 1999.

Almudena kept on studing and now works as a teacher of English in Cantabria. Her interest towards literature, fairy tales and art has intermingled with her love for painting.

As an illustrator, she has contributed with drawings for the magazine ‘Vetus’, others inspired in Jane Austen´s works and has illustrated the book for children The Funny Adventures of Little Nani, written by Cinta García de la Rosa.

She holds a deep interest in portrait making, human figure, and when working with colour, she loves pre-Raphaelite artists and their techniques which she aims to grasp some day with her own creative work. Watercolour and the works of artist such as Carl Larsson and Norman Rockwell are also sources of inspiration and work.
